The company’s core mission is centered on using the pizza industry as a Trojan horse to demonstrate that fast food can be redesigned as part of the solution to the global epidemic of obesity and chronic disease related to diet. 90% of their business is delivery so the locations are small 100-200sf plus a kitchen. The stores are meant to be information terminals: a hydroponic basil plant sits in the window, ipads and led screens serve not as menu boards but interactive and informational displays on nutrition. Inspired by how much time it takes to fold pizza boxes and how much room they take up, we designed a 'Pizza Box Wall' , the screen between the counter and the kitchen. This wall would be full of boxes at the beginning of the day, empty out during peek hours and be constantly be refilled by the staff during down time, a visual graphic to customers of how many pizzas were being delivered at that time.
